Narcan is a medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. It works by blocking the effects of opioids and can restore breathing within minutes. It is safe, easy to use, and will not harm someone if opioids are not present.
Anyone can help save a life.
Overdoses can happen quickly and unexpectedly. Many involve prescription pills or substances that contain fentanyl, even when someone does not realize it. Having Narcan nearby gives families, friends, and bystanders a chance to act before emergency responders arrive. You do not need medical training to carry or use Narcan.
It is always better to act.
